About Me

I am a user experience researcher, strategist, creative problem solver and interactive designer on a mission to help people live more healthy, happy and meaningful lives in the Midwest area. I’ve worked in the e-commerce, health insurance, IT, networking, mobility, and consulting industries in US and India.

I love my work because User Experience Researcher is not a job profile, its a lifestyle because you get evolved into a problem solver and it becomes your attitude. I believe the UX is a very open-ended term and it is something which is not related to only IT or software development but day to day life.

My experience is rooted in my role, where I was presented with the unique challenge of educating stakeholders and building the UX team from the ground up.

At BCBSKS, I became adept at quickly running a variety of both formative and evaluative research studies, from preliminary interviewing to prototype testing, understanding the user's experience is always at the forefront of my design thinking. My hunger for detecting usability issues and passion for working out solutions has helped me endless times, in coming up with solutions that drastically improved the user experience.

Process

Research

I use qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to determine end user’s needs.

Design

Refine

I design screens based on user feedback and brainstorm them with stakeholders.

I do constant usability testing before, during, and after the design process. It's an iterative process

Test

I combine stakeholder and user feedback to create a product people want to use.

How I work:

I love to present visually and collaboratively sketch, brainstorm, talk to and co-create with users, facilitate conversations, solve difficult problems, manage project details, and work closely with my team.

I love design research: the looking, listening and learning…

Walls in my cubical always filled with my rough sketches to demonstrate to people on what I am working on

I love talking with people, learning from others, and listening to them. People tell me that I have the power to handle the project on track and my communication to buy-in stakeholders come naturally to me.

My secret powers:

I’m good at taking notice of things about people and remembering faces (and the people attached to them!). I think I can “read” people well. And I’m pretty good at seeing connections between various traits, and indeed between people, identifying patterns in their personalities and behavior. This is not to say I’m the world’s best researcher, just that I find these have been useful traits.

I’m a connector of people and ideas. I believe in the power of personal relationships and cross-pollination of ideas to enrich our communities, ideas, and well-being. My process involves investigating design problems through the lens of user research, gathering insight from real users, and proposing design solutions that respect the needs of the user and the organization.

An active networker, I am eager to hear from individuals who value user knowledge to design meaningful solutions. Whether you’re a UX researcher available for a casual chat, or a product designer interested in collaborating, you are welcome to contact me.

Thank you for visiting. I look forward to hearing from you.
